Overview
An understanding of economics is not only a vital component of social sciences education but also a necessity for anyone interested in business, environmental policy, welfare reform, international trade, or globalization. BS Economics is a four-year degree program comprising eight regular semesters, and students will be required to complete 130 credit hours spread over 44 courses. This program is designed to familiarize students with various economic issues, situations and tools.
The curriculum begins with introductory level concepts and then progresses into advanced level areas towards the end of the degree program. Hence, students with any Higher Secondary School Certificate (F.Sc., F.A., I. Com, A. levels or equivalent) are eligible for this program. However, an appreciation for mathematics and statistics shall prove to be helpful. After completing a significant core of economic theory and mathematical and statistical methods courses, students choose to enrol in various higher-level electives courses.
