Associate Degree in Education Leadership and Management

Introduction

The ADP Education Leadership and Management is a two-year undergraduate program introduced for the teachers perusing their career in the field of teaching and Education. It will not only provide career opportunities to the prospective and in-service teachers at primary and secondary level but also inculcate leadership and management skills in them at the same time. The focus of the program is to enhance general education and content knowledge of the potential teachers, alongside inculcating effective and innovative leadership and managerial skills to upgrade the essential competencies for administrative positions in any education institution. It will serve as a first step towards a larger goal of quality education thus, aims to target the population of elementary and secondary teachers and management with 12 years of schooling.

Rationale

Prepare the elementary and secondary school teachers for teaching in the private and public sector education institutions. The Associated Degree in Education Leadership and management will provide career opportunities to the prospective teachers for most of these teachers ADP or B. Ed (Honors) degree is mandatory for induction as well as for promotion.

Programme Objectives

The objectives of the Associate Degree Programme of Education Leadershi and Management are as follows:

• To develop and strengthen a community of well-trained teachers, leaders and Mangers at elementary and secondary level.
• To apply leadership skills to effectively lead and mange team, fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
• To equip teachers with essential professional skills and communication competencies to interact with diverse stakeholders including educators, parents, students and community members.
• To Enhance pedagogical skills and knowledge of both prospective teachers at elementary and secondary level.
• To empower potential educators to take on leadership roles and contribute to educational improvement initiatives.

Admission Policy Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate or equivalent (FA/F.Sc /I.com/ICS/ A levels).

Duration of Programme

2 years (4 Semesters).

Semester Duration

16-18 weeks.

Commencement of Programme

The programme will be commenced from Fall 2023.

Upon completion of an Associate Degree Programme in Education Leadership and Management, the Students will be able to

• Work in public and private sector as teachers, administrator or instructional supervisor in the schools at primary and secondary level.
• Demonstrate proficient communication skills in the field of Education.
• Incorporate dynamic teaching methods and practice teaching skill such as classroom management, curriculum design, classroom assessment and lesson planning.
• Apply teaching methods and practices while teaching in their specialized areas.
• Understand computer skills needed for professional development in education sector.
• Develop effect communication skills both written and oral specifically needed for the professional environment.
• Design and evaluate curriculum that align with the educational standards and adapt curriculum based on educational trends.
• Implement effective assessment strategies to measure student progress, instructional effectiveness and program outcomes.
• Recognize the value of diversity and inclusivity in education and its impact on student success.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage change effectively in response to evolving educational needs and challenges.

Programme Structure of ADP

The ADP, or Associate Degree Program, typically consists of 24 courses covering 68 to 72 credit hours. The program structure typically includes four types of courses: Compulsory Courses, Content courses, Foundation Courses, and Professional or Elective Courses.
