Electrician
Overview
UIT University invites application for the position of “Electrician” in the HR & Administration (HR&A) Department.
This position is responsible for managing all electrical work within the university premises. He should plan layout
and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes. He is also
responsible to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Specific Skills
- Must be available to work any shift in a 24 hour/ 7 days operational work week including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
- Must be able to handle electrical appliances with care.
- Must be able to communicate.
Responsible For
- To assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- To diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- To connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- To inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- To advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- To test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Any other task assigned by Director HR&A / Senior Officer Administration.

Qualification & Experience Requirements
- Minimum Intermediate from recognized institute.
- Must have 2-3 years’ relevant experience preferably of educational institution.
