Usman Waheed is a distinguished academic and industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in software engineering education, research, and corporate training. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Practice at Usman Institute of Technology University (UITU), Karachi, where he is pioneering the integration of real-world software development practices into academic settings.

At UITU, Usman has been instrumental in cultivating a “Software House Culture” within the classroom, embedding live projects into the curriculum from the very first week of the semester. He has led significant curriculum reforms aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, emphasizing Agile methodologies, DevOps, and modern UI/UX practices.

Usman’s vision extends beyond the classroom. He advocates for establishing a “Software House Culture” within universities to enhance graduate employability, promoting a “Reading to Research” culture among faculty and students, and creating structured alumni networks to strengthen industry-academia linkages.
