UIT University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Community Policing Karachi (CPK Green Karachi), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Karachi Defence, to launch a Mega Plantation Drive aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and contributing to a greener and healthier Karachi.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Murad Ali Soni, Chief Community Police Karachi, as the Chief Guest. The collaboration brings together academic, community, and civic stakeholders around a shared commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Under the initiative, CPK Green Karachi will provide plants to UIT University, while the Rotary Club of Karachi Defence will lead the plantation project. The initiative will support the development of a greener university environment while encouraging greater awareness of the importance of trees, green spaces, and environmental stewardship.
The Mega Plantation Drive represents a collaborative effort to promote sustainable practices, community participation, environmental awareness, and green campus development. It also provides an opportunity for members of the UIT University community to actively contribute to creating a more sustainable urban environment.
Through this partnership, UIT University continues to strengthen its engagement with community organizations and support initiatives that contribute to the environmental well-being of Karachi. The initiative reflects the University’s commitment to fostering responsible citizenship and encouraging students, faculty, and staff to participate in activities that create positive social and environmental impact.
The collaboration is a meaningful step towards a Greener Karachi and a Better Future, with UIT University, CPK Green Karachi, and the Rotary Club of Karachi Defence working together to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
