UIT University observed Kashmir Black Day to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and reaffirm its support for their right to self-determination, peace, and justice. The event provided a platform for students to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue and express their perspectives through speeches and poetry.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Vali Uddin, Vice Chancellor, UIT University, who highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the Kashmir issue and standing in solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He emphasized the significance of engaging students in meaningful discussions that promote awareness, understanding, and peaceful advocacy.
Organized under the umbrella of the Young Peace and Development Corps (YPDC), UIT Chapter, the event featured thought-provoking speeches and heartfelt poetry presented by students. Through their words and performances, participants expressed their emotions, concerns, and solidarity, highlighting the importance of humanity, awareness, peace, and justice.
The student contributions provided an opportunity for young voices to communicate their perspectives and engage with an important humanitarian and social issue. Such activities encourage students to develop awareness of regional and global concerns while promoting responsible expression, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue.
Through initiatives such as the Kashmir Black Day observance, UIT University continues to encourage student engagement in social and humanitarian issues and provide platforms for awareness, peaceful expression, and responsible citizenship.
