As part of Faculty Engagement Week (FEW) 2026, UIT University conducted the sixth session of its Faculty Development Program 2026 on “Teaching Methodology in the Age of AI – Action & Precaution” on September 9, 2026.

The session was led by Dr. Anwar Ali, Associate Professor and Trainer, UIT University, and focused on the changing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education and contemporary teaching practices.

During the session, Dr. Anwar Ali discussed practical approaches to integrating AI into teaching while maintaining academic integrity, critical thinking, and meaningful student engagement. The discussion covered AI-supported teaching strategies, assessment redesign, and personalized learning approaches that can help faculty members respond to the changing needs of students in an AI-enabled learning environment.

The session also highlighted important considerations associated with the use of AI in education, including misinformation, algorithmic bias, data privacy, plagiarism, and the responsible use of AI-generated content. Faculty members were encouraged to approach AI as a supportive educational tool while ensuring that technology complements, rather than replaces, the role of educators and authentic learning.

The Faculty Development Program session provided faculty members at UIT University with practical insights into responsible AI integration and contemporary teaching methodologies, supporting the University’s continued focus on faculty development and quality education.
