Dr. Kashif Mehmood

Prof. Dr. Kashif Mehmood is the Provost and Dean of the Faculty of Computing Sciences at UIT University, where he provides academic leadership in advancing institutional excellence, quality assurance, research, innovation, and academic transformation. With over 24 years of experience in higher education, research, technology, and institutional leadership, he has built a distinguished career focused on academic excellence, strategic planning, governance, and societal impact.

At UIT University, he is spearheading efforts to modernize curricula, strengthen quality assurance and accreditation, expand postgraduate education, enhance research productivity, integrate Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies into academic programs, and foster stronger Industry-Academia collaboration to improve graduate employability.

In addition to academia, he has held senior leadership positions in multiple organizations including a prominent research and development organization under the Ministry of Defense, where he directed large-scale software development and technology projects. His unique blend of academic and industry experience enables him to bridge research, technology, innovation, and institutional strategy.

Dr. Kashif is committed to building a future-ready university that promotes academic excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, ethical leadership, and technology-enabled learning, believing universities must serve as catalysts for knowledge creation, societal progress, and the development of globally competitive graduates.
