Engr. Rabia Bilal

Rabia Bilal is an academic, researcher, and engineering educator with extensive experience in higher education, interdisciplinary research, and academic leadership. Her expertise spans engineering, artificial intelligence, education, and emerging technologies, with a strong focus on bridging research, innovation, and real-world applications.

At UIT University, Karachi, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, where she contributes to teaching, curriculum development, research supervision, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into engineering education. She has played a key role in promoting research-led teaching, fostering innovation, and mentoring students in interdisciplinary research and industry-oriented projects.

An important milestone in her academic career was her research appointment at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, where she worked as a Visiting Research Officer and Clinical Trial Assistant on a multidisciplinary breast cancer detection project in collaboration with the NHS and clinicians from Oxford, contributing to the development, testing, and clinical evaluation of biomedical technologies for early breast cancer detection.
