As part of its Faculty Engagement Week (FEW) 2026, UIT University conducted an engaging Faculty Development Program (FDP) session titled “Faculty–Student Interaction: On-Class, Off-Class,” focusing on the importance of meaningful and effective interaction between faculty members and students.

The session was led by Mr. Wali Zahid, Trainer & C-Level Coach, CEO SkillCity and President IMC, who shared practical insights into building positive and productive faculty–student relationships within and beyond the classroom.

The session explored key aspects of effective faculty–student interaction, including communication, student engagement, mentoring, academic guidance, approachability, active listening, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. The discussion highlighted how constructive interaction can contribute to student confidence, participation, academic development, and overall learning experience.

Faculty members were encouraged to adopt communication and mentoring approaches that create an environment where students feel supported, respected, heard, and motivated to actively participate in their academic journey.

The session also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between approachability and professional boundaries, enabling faculty members to establish respectful relationships while maintaining an effective and professional academic environment.

Through the Faculty Development Program 2026, UIT University continues to strengthen faculty capacity and promote effective teaching, communication, mentoring, and student engagement practices. Such initiatives contribute to creating a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that advances the University’s commitment to quality education and academic excellence.
