
Usman Institute of Technology Holds 27th Annual Convocation Ceremony
273 Graduates Awarded Degrees
Six Outstanding Students Receive Gold Medals and Cash Awards
Karachi, June 6, 2026 — The 27th Annual Convocation of Usman Institute of Technology was held on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Vice Chancellor of NED University of Engineering & Technology.
273 graduates were awarded degrees during the convocation ceremony. Among them, 88 students graduated from the Electrical Engineering program, 74 students received degrees in Bachelor of Computer Science, and 111 students graduated from the Bachelor of Software Engineering program.
In recognition of academic excellence, six students securing top positions in their respective disciplines were awarded gold medals along with a cash prize of PKR 25,000 each. Additionally, three students from the Electrical Engineering program who secured first positions were honored with Gold Medals by the Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP).
The recipients of first positions in the Department of Electrical Engineering were Muhammad Wamiq (Computer Systems Engineering), Muhammad Umar Khawar (Electronic Engineering), and Abdul Saboor (Power Engineering). In the Bachelor of Computer Science program, Adeena Asif secured the first position, while Hamna Mohiuddin and Muhammad Shaheer Zaman Khan jointly secured the first position in the Bachelor of Software Engineering program.
The Chief Guest, Dr. S.M. Tariq Rafi, Chairperson of the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC), congratulated the graduating students on their achievements and appreciated their dedication and hard work. He stated, this convocation is not merely a celebration of your academic achievements; it is a reflection of the dedication, hard work, and commitment that UIT University has invested in shaping your future. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter as you enter professional life. Along with new opportunities come greater responsibilities. It is now your duty to utilize your knowledge, skills, and values to contribute positively to society and play your part in the development and progress of the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail, Vice Chancellor of NED University of Engineering & Technology, awarded degrees to the graduates and congratulated them on their academic success. Addressing the students, he said that Pakistani students possess immense talent and potential. He emphasized that it is now their responsibility to serve the country by utilizing their knowledge, skills, and expertise for the development and progress of Pakistan.
Vice Chancellor of UIT University, Dr. Valiuddin, also addressed the graduates and remarked, pursue excellence, uphold integrity, continue learning, and use your knowledge and skills to serve humanity and contribute positively to the progress of Pakistan.
The convocation ceremony was attended by Ghazanfar Hussain, Registrar of NED University of Engineering & Technology, members of the Board of Usman Memorial Foundation, faculty members of UIT University, distinguished guests from industry, and a large number of parents and well-wishers.
