The 8th Meeting of the Academic Council of UIT University was held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at UIT University, Karachi. The meeting brought together the University’s academic leadership, statutory members, distinguished external academicians and industry professionals to deliberate upon important academic and statutory matters concerning the University.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Vali Uddin, Vice Chancellor, UIT University, and attended by Mr. Hussein Hasanali, GM/Head, IT Audit, HBL; Dr. Shah Jamal Alam, Professor of Computer Science & Associate Dean, Undergraduate Education, Habib University; Dr. Kashif Mehmood, Provost & Dean, Faculty of Computing Science (FCS); Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Management & Social Sciences (FMSS) & Acting Chairperson, Management Sciences & Social Sciences (MS & SS); Dr. Syed Talha Ahsan, Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) & Chairperson, Electrical Engineering (EL); Dr. Muhammad Wasim, Chairperson, Computer Science; Dr. Jawwad Ahmad, Chairperson, Engineering Technology; Dr. Muhammad Ghazanfarullah Khan, Professor, Electrical Engineering & Coordinator Graduate Programs; Dr. Adnan Ahmed Siddiqui, Professor, Computer Science; Mr. Raza Abbas Jafri, Controller of Examinations; Mr. Muhammad Ali Kemal, Director ORIC: Dr. Rana Javed Masood, Associate Professor, Engineering Technology; Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan, Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering; Ms. Umme Aeman Kamal, Manager QEC (on behalf of Director QEC); Mr. Aamir Siddiqui, Registrar & Secretary, Academic Council; and Engr. The Academic Council deliberated upon various academic matters put forward by the Boards of Faculty of FET, FCS and FMSS; recommendations of the 3rd BASR; nominations to statutory bodies, including the Boards of Faculty and Discipline Committee; and other actions taken for the constitution of Industrial Advisory Boards for the respective faculties and departments.
The meeting provided an important forum for collective academic deliberation and institutional decision-making in furtherance of UIT University’s commitment to academic quality, effective governance and continuous institutional development.
